No to building of CPK - Central Communication Port

The climate catastrophe is already having a negative impact on the agricultural sector, and the situation is getting worse all the time. Temperature changes and extreme weather and climate conditions are even now affecting the yields of crops.

Weather and climatic conditions also affect the availability of water needed to irrigate crops. In addition, the lack of water with the heat wave will contribute to soil erosion.

This is why farms need to implement a wide range of modernisation measures to improve soil and water management, which is essential for their adaptation to climate change. However, such projects are not widespread due to a lack of investment funds.

The Minister of Agriculture has announced 20 billion for farmers from the Reconstruction Fund. This is to finance investments in infrastructure, the internet, the digitalisation of schools and the development of short supply chains with support for agri-food processing, as, for example, sewage management, and to enable support for farming in mountainous areas. There is not enough money for the adaptation of farms.

Meanwhile, politicians decide to allocate 5 times more money, up to 100 billion PLN for the construction of CPK. Ensuring food security should be on the list of government priorities, definitely before looking for gigantic investments to ensure economic profit. In order to ensure it, financial means should be used for adapting farms to climate changes.
